04-07 HD DTC Codes and Activation

Hi guys, hoping for a bit of help. I have an 04 FLHRCI with just under 50K miles.

Check engine light came on, bike ran fine for a bit then acted like it was fuel starved. Quit once, took a little while to get it started again an limped home.

Followed the instructions in the original post and received the following code -

P0118 ET Sensor Voltage Open/High EFI - It also gave what appears to be a part number - 32733-04A

Thanks in advance

jason

That code refers to the engine sensor which is located on the rear of the front cylinder head. It references a problem with the sensor or circuit that feeds the engine temp info to the ecm to supply fuel.

The other is a part number for the system (not the sensor)

Thanks for the quick info. Is it worth me just trying to replace the sensor (not sure how difficult that is) or would it be beneficial to run the bike into the shop and have them check the circuit and make sure there isn't some other problem?

Would you have a guestimate of the cost on this type of repair?

Thanks again for your help.

jason

It's not a difficult thing to replace the temp sensor. No idea of the cost and if you aren't comfortable with this sort of thing, I would run it into the shop.

Mr. Data,

Just wanted to drop by and say a quick thanks for the help. I replaced the sensor myself and was able to clear the code and it now runs like a top. Saved myself a few dollars in diagnostic costs and I appreciate your assistance.

Hi, my name is Levi and I was wondering if you could help me with a problem that I am having. I have an '05 Road Glide. My inner fairing was faded so I pulled it off to refinish it. While doing so, I removed an Escort H-D radar detector which was mounted on my fairing. Also, I removed an H-D Mp3 Player on my bars and switched handlebars. I reinstalled my plastic and inner fairing and hooked up all wires/switches. Now when I turn my ignition switch on; my fuel, battery, and engine lights don't light up. A few seconds later the security light comes on and stays on. (I have no alarm) All lights come on on the dash and brake/turn signals. My turn signals won't flash when I turn them on but will stay lit. My starter is dead and pretty much all that works properly is the radio and the brake light.
I preformed a WOW check and the speedo/tach. both lit up and the needles moved. But my fuel light never lit up. I went through the PSSPt and the results are as follows:
P- no rsp
S- U1255 (pn 68920-01C)
SP- U1064 (pn 67261-04)
t- U1301 (pn 67459-04)

Then I checked my fuse box and my ignition fuse was blown. I replaced it and turned on the ignition and it blew again...

Thats where i'm at. I'm hoping it's something stupid like a bad ground or wire, but I don't no where to start and am getting a bit overwhlemend. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

If you blew the second fuse that you installed too, you have a wire crossed up somewhere and you have to locate it to clear the problem. No short way of doing it without going over everything you disconnected and use the schematic in your factory manual.

I have an 05 Deluxe that is showing the code PO122 (TP Sensor Open/Low EFI) What is this code telling me and what do I need to do to fix, the bike is stock except for vance and hines long shots and the Fuel Pack for fuel management. They have been on the bike for the last 2 years with know trouble. Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's telling you that the TPS (throttle position sensor) isn't doing what it should be doing which is returning the information to the ECM what position the throttle is in so the ECM can dispatch the correct timing, fuel delivery etc. It could be the wiring to it or the sensor itself that needs to be replaced.
