What are are the downfalls of the Syn3?

Changed at 3000 miles.....Spectro in all three holes.

Mine came from the factory with syn 3.(CVO) I changed to amsoil at 500 miles in the engine, tranny, and primary. That is all I have ran since then. I could not believe how much quieter the tranny was after the change...I am satisfied so far! :s

Do some reading about Syn 3 oil and use a better quality oil in in your bike.

2009 Softail Deluxe Changed oil at 133 miles to Spectro Platinum 20-50, trans and primary at 189 with Spectro 6 speed and Spectro HD primary. Looking forward to many thousands of trouble free miles. Broke in with 30-60-30 routine.

I have a 1988 EVO with 106K on it. It has always used mineral oil. If I could afford a new Harley I would probably use synthetic. Fossil

Went to full synthetic in all 3 holes. Mobile 1 in engine, Spetro in tranny & primary. Big difference in tranny.

Changed right after doing glider's 30/60/30 break-in on the new 09 SG. Better L8 than never - cost = $50 (money well spent)...
