Colorado Run

I am from Colorado and agree with dogs that is one beauty ride. If you are around the Colorado Springs area try the drive up Ute Pass to Cripple Creek. Old gold mines and casinos with some of the coolest lodging anywhere. Lots of brew your own beer taverns too. Enjoy Colorado, I sure do.

Check out the 1100' Royal Gorge suspension bridge. For a modest fee, you can ride across it. It's pretty spectacular. I'm not sure how far, but it's west of Pueblo I believe.

We live in Gunnison, CO. The west slope area is some the best places to ride. I would avoid riding at night. The road conditions can change very quickly, rock slides, deer, elk. There is not a straight section of road in Colorado and curvy roads can get very sharp very quick, plus you miss all the great views. Most of the outer towns roll up the carpet early. Hope this helps

Been on the Royal Gorge Bridge...what a site. In a few weeks we are taking a trip to Estes Park - i hope that it is as nice as the other areas of Colorado.

...by the way, Garden of the Gods is a cool ride on a bike. Winding roads, nice views. Close to pikes Peak.:s

Colorado sounds like a great ride. I'm gettin pretty geeked about my upcoming ride through RMNP up through Estes Park. Doin it solo, so am also rather apprehensive at the same time....

The Trail Ridge Road is awsome (RMNP). They are redoing the road at the south entrance for about 8 miles, with mag chloide. Make sure and wash your bike as soon as you can, that stuff is nasty. We did that ride on the 4th of July with alot of rain.

I've been told that the area of RMNP has been getting quite a bit of rain and cool weather lately. Don't you think that would have dispelled most of the mag chloride?

We have had alot of rain in most of CO this year. I would wash my bike asap when I got to Estes park if was raining. If it is dry when U go thru it it should be ok.
