Anyone here ever trimmed a windshield?

I will try to splain to you with pictures.
I had water handy in case the plastic got hot, but it never even got warm.
Yes I taped a towel to the sander support

Dr Evil, what did you use to get the smooth round edge?

Been contemplating cutting mine since I read another's post on same subject, but too nervous to do it. I didn't even think about cutting from the bottom. Thanks to your post/suggestion, I'll be cutting tomorrow, ...from the bottom!

A plus ..have a person hold the shield. you cut w/ dremel like your pinstriping rest one finger on shield that hand holds dremel. sasety glasses for each..

It was in the neighborhood of a 280 wet sand.

just remember when cutting from bottom on tapered windshield like electraglide you lose width.

true, but if your only cutting 1-2 in its not much.
