2001 wide glide carb with security no start

the sart button relay test does exactly what you said in the paragraph. when i probe the front big blade of relay socket with ignition on has 12 volts and then when i probe the number 86 its dead until i push the start button then it comes alive to 12 volts

Then it means Pin #9 of the TSSM (tan/green wire) is not grounding Pin 85 of the start relay.
For the starter relay to pick, the TSSM must ground pin 85 of the start relay. This is part of the security feature.

The security feature does 2 things:
Disables ignition via pin10 of TSSM
Disables starter via pin 9 of TSSM

Do the turn signals actually work?
 
is this pointing toward a bad tssm

It is possible. Doing the jumper wire thing from yesterday could have blown it.
That wasn't the best thing for it.

Are you getting a response from the system when you hit the FOB? You need to determine if the FOB is talking to the TSSM. Unless you are sure of that, your going nowhere.

Did you hold the button down for 15 seconds to establish communications.
