whinning belt drive

Thus my post, something wrong with the dealer. With only 6000 miles something tells me a major issue with the bike (unlikely) or the dealership is not to to be trusted.:nosad

Jeff I would bet dollars to doughnuts the dealer's position was that the belt is a wear item and so a non warranty issue....:nosad
So now after OP spent all the money, and he still does not have a properly running bike and the dealer sprayed silicone on his new belt and pulley. What a non expert fix. The rear wheel is more than likely adjusted improperly and to tight causing squeal. Wonder if belt breaks in the near future what line will the dealer use then????

Belt whine is from over tightening, mis aligned pulleys and or worn pulleys. This will shorten the life of the belt and bearings, spray silicone is a band aid on a broken leg, shame on that tech

I don't see how it would wear steel pulleys down.

Usually an over tight belt would break, wear out, and squeak.
