Voltage Regultor Question

I posted a thread about my battery issue I had on my 2015 CVO Limited.
The new battery also went low after a week off the tender, I did a draw test buy removal of the Maine fuse and using the digital multimeter, and after the alarm timed out there was no draw.
Next I tested the stator for short to ground and it is in specs.
I tested the stator for continuity and again in specs.
I tested stator output and again in specs. Also the connector pins looked clean. I didn't check the connector that feeds voltage to the battery, only the stator side of the regulator.
The reason for doing these tests is because the voltage gauge is steady until the RPM crosses 2500 then the gauge begins to twitch up and down about a volt or more and gets close to the red line but never below 13.5 area.
I did find the battery cables a little loose, tighted as needed.
The battery has not gone down after a week or more off the tender but the voltage gage still does the twitching.
Didn't find any other loose connections and the gauge acts up sitting on the stand once I get to 2500 RPMs.
Could the regulator be causing this?

Just because you bought a new battery, doesn’t mean it’s good. I’ve checked many “new” batteries with an ANCEL battery tester. More often than not, the new battery was junk.

+1 on what Huckster FLHRC said, I've had more than 1 battery that was junk right out of the box, have you done a load test?
Having said that I would just monitor for a while and if it stays charged maybe tightening the cable fixed your issue. If it starts acting up again I'd be leaning towards a bad regulator.

Last Monday I unplugged the regulator side of the connectors thinking the battery was dead after being off the maintainer for the 7 days we were evacuated do to the fires. Real problem of not starting when we got home was I had put the fob in the kitchen where we keep extra keys while we were away.
I’ll check the battery voltage today after I get back home and see what the voltage is.

Battery voltage is 12.88 at connector for the regultor and charging cable after 5 days off the maintainer and regulator side of the rectifier unplugged.
Plugged the connector beck into the regulator and hooked the multimeter to the charge cable.
Started the engine and monitored charge rate, 13.98 at idle and 14.15 at 2500 rpm meter numbers remain steady while the dash gauge bounces between about 13.5 to almost 15 volts.
I'm leaning towards the gauge is the problem, these readings are while sitting on the stand, the gauge reacts with the same bounce when riding and only when at or above 2500 rpm.
Battery voltage 1/2 hrs later is 12.98 volts.
