Touring seats

As contained in my post on Page 1, I know the Sundowner is a much more comfortable seat but for my height & 29" inseam length I'm certain it will sit higher which is just not doable for me so in all likelyhood I will try to search out somebody here in Canada who is good at this modifying seats thing... (anyone out there know of anybody off hand)?

He rebuilt my 08 ultra factory seat and it is awesome. I believe they can lower seat height too.

i like that seat vibratingharley looks stock bet it helps

:skipping:bigsmiley8:
The seat being redone was a great idea. I don't have to take a break from riding anymore cause of a sore butt. I just wish I would have done this before I spent all that money on another seat. Oh well a lesson with a price. What else is new!!!!!

Guys, anyone know how a sundowner suits someone with a short (29") inside seam? I need to either have the existing seat modified by a saddle specialist or look at changing from stock seat to Sundowner.

Can't speak for the sundowner but I'm short also (30" inseam) and what I like about the mustang is I now sit a bit higher which makes the handlebars more comfortable. Also the seat is cut narrower at the front so when I stop my feet are now closer to the ground and I have a more flat footed stance.

I really do like this seat and my girlfriend loves the back seat also!

I to was looking for a better seat for distance riding till I took glider s advice and called mean city. Took my seat to them and they did a great job, and also saved me over $300.00. Thanks glider for the head's up. dhog

All very informative info here guys. Unfortunatley, living in Scotland, UK reduces the options available. I think I'm down to three, in no particular order these would be a used Sundowner Solo Seat + matching pillion although I need to find out what grab strap goes with this (anyone know?) next up is a Reach Touring Seat which I tried on the bike and is fairly comfy (need another grab strap part number for this baby) both of these options I can have gel inserts fitted locally and finally, a brand new RKC Sundowner at list price which I could have the rider section fitted with a gel pad for around £90.00 (approx $180USD). Decisions, decisions :read

Merlynn, I am now looking at a new Mustang seat, either the One piece sport touring seat (75486) or the Plain Smooth Touring seat (75464) Although there are many different options, I'd be interested to know what one you opted for on your Road King?

We also replaced our stock seat, and added these....was a bit pricey , but well worth every single. We rode from Bonneville Mo. to Rapid City South Dakota a total of 809 miles and walked away from the bike like we had been in our easy chair...well almost!...They are very nice...I'm 62 and my wife is 58 we ride a Road King....at least give it a look on their site...hope it works ok....Good Luck!

I have a sundowner on my 2002 Road King Classic. It's a better seat than the original seat. It's more comfortable for the rider and much more comfortable for the passenger because it's wider.
