Tire recommendations

Anyone who's got any expirience of Michelin tires. Always prefered them on my car and coming up to the mileage when it's time to change on the bike.

Problem is not so many choices as far as Harley's are concerned due to the fact it is a heavy load to support short sidewall radial tire profiles, hence Bias ply on most Harleys is standard and why Dunlop is the OEM of choice (has the most continuous/current experience with bias ply tires/compounds. Yes there are other major brands, but choices and selection is a double edged sword. Harder compound more mileage...poorer traction. Softer compound better traction...less mileage if all other factors are essentially the same plain and simple.

That said, all the major brands offer pretty high quality products BUT make sure you choose the same profile and size as your OEM standard tires. If you go wider, in some cases you may "lose" traction due to the rim "pinching" the tire profile at the bead, as well as the tendance for the bike to want to "standup" in a turn. It may also put the tire lower which affects the steering geometry (on the front) or affect the ground clearance if you went wider AND had to go to lower say 70 series profile (from 80 series for example). Do be cautious and try not to change profile or size, following manufacturer's recommendations...both HD and OEM tire maker.

Yes, I use Metzler 880's also, touch softer compound so expect less mileage, but already like them for their neutral handling at speed and in the wet they are just fine.
