Stock Pipes

My dealer says if I ever want to trade in my bike, the stock pipes must be present to get top $$$!

In my area it is about impossible to get through the mot without a road legal exhaust system
so in prep for mot i swap the silencers on the bike to get it through
perhaps this dealer can see in the future that it may cause repercussions if selling a bike with an illegal system fitted
Or perhaps he can maximise profit by sitting the stock pipes and selling on the aftermarket and or doing the upgrade for the new owner

The only thing that comes to mind would be the Dealer could not sell a bike with modified exhaust I E not street legal Just a g:suess

Probably will get the same for trade with or without the upgraded exhaust, so I would put the stock back on anyway and sell the upgrade separately.
