This Sunday is fathers day (15% off) so Monday
I will be changing all 3 holes to the good stuff
hoping this will quiet the dyna down.:D:D:D

Well I changed all three holes today (lucked out got everything early),
I buttoned her up, cleaned her off and headed out for about a 50 mile
ride, wow it fells like I have a brand new bike. No more
marbles banging around, shifts way better, just a little clunk between
2nd and 3rd and 3rd and 4th, but not always. I'm. sold on Amsoil, Sectro
6sd. and HD formula+. Thanks Glider for the recomendations. :small3d028::small3d028::small3d028::D

Any questions about the Spectro line that also offers engine oils, fork oil and primary oil for Harley's can be referred to Ken as per his recommendation at 1-800-243-8645 and if he doesn't answer, to leave a message and he will get back to you.

I have been doing a bit of reading on the oil side of things....many posts on oil.
My main concern is heat...what temps do you ride in?

I am about to move away from genuine HD oil in the tranny and Engine.
M1 v-twin for engine
Spectro 6 speed for Tranny
And Spectro or M1 10w40 for Primary.
What your thoughts on the M1 10w40 against the Spectro in the tranny.

I ride in anything from 30* to about 80*. Anything hotter than that isn't for me.
I like the Formula+ in the primary however any 10/40 NON energy conserving oil will work in the primary. I used the M1 in the trans before switching to Spectro and could see and feel the difference in shifting and smoothness. I go with the Spectro in the trans.

I understand Redline MTL is a GL4 (Syn) oil what is the Spectro Primary oil GL?

I am a mechanical engineer an can't help myself when it comes to the technical side of things...I beat myself until I get the answers for self satisfaction.
When going to a new product I haven't used I like to research....curiosity!
 
Ok went and bought the spectro gear oil, but was just reading the post and saw that the GL-5 is for the 6 speed and the GL-1 is for the 5 speed, my question is can I use the GL-1 in the 6 speed tranny? Dont wont to do anything to hurt the bike pls some one let me know before I do the service.

It would be an improvement over what you have in there now but the GL5 has an additive package specifically for the helical gears in the 6 speed. Better off to see if you can return it for the 6 speed oil IMO
