Shift lever position on Softails

I really liked this idea and tried it. However the heal shifter contacts the primary cover when slip completely on the shaft on the inside. Did you use any spacers and if so did the toe shifter fit completely on the shaft? I hate to clamp down the toe shifter if it is only part way on the shaft for fear of distorting it.

On my '05 there is a groove cut in the shaft, so the heal lever must be all the way on to get the screw started. I remember that is why I did not reverse mine. This is a good point about the primary cover on the '05, there is simply no room to move the levers in farther. Mabe not so on the later models I guess.
