Pull the tank? Why?

OK, thanks guys. Now I am looking at the SE Heavy Breather model, and the similar model from K&N. As I read more, I didn't realize those types allowed for more air flow than the stage 1 kit that fits under the stock cover.

The Heavy breather's do have the capability to flow more air, but with stock cams and throttle body it is not necessary (it will not hurt either). The stock motor can only suck so much air.

If that is the case, then I will stick with the low-profile model. I'm not really interested in more than I need (no cams/engine work at this point) just more air to balance the slip-on's I'll be installing first. And I would prefer not to have that giant gooseneck looking thingy hanging off the bike anyway.
