new starter do I need bigger battery

I recently installed a "drag specialties hi-performance big twin starter(80-1002). Would a guy need to upgrade the battery for for a high performance starter?

I have an upgraded starter on my 94 softail, I have continued to run the no maint. battery from HD. I keep it hooked up to a battery tender and have no problems.

my dad brought over his battery from his ultra and we tried that and it still wont start the bike. and his battery is fully charged.

Can you hear the relay latching? Does the solonoid function?

the engine initially turns over just for a half second or so and then the solenoid just clicks

Both ends of each batt. cable , connections are clean & tight , fuses good, any codes yet?
