This maybe along shot but how about the brake run controller for the tail lights. With the 2 connectors lying there that would be my guess.
OK, I stood on my head and read that sentence again and it makes sense to me now!

Question for you. Did you buy the bike used? If so I am guessing it is something added on for lights, etc?? If you unplug it and everything seems to still work correctly it may have been left on while the other items removed when the bike was sold to you?

Its an aftermarket relay. What it was hooked to, no idea.

Triplej. Nope. Bike was bought by my Dad new in 03. I've had it since 05. It's a stock part. Just a matter of figuring out what it is so that I can get a part number.
I thought about starting the bike, or trying anyways, and see if something won't work. Lights etc.
It'd be my luck though to fry something!
