Nothing Makes the Tranny Better than (IMO) Redline Shockpoof Gear Oil...
I would also say to use MTL in your primary...or same product from Redline labeled "V-Twin Primary Case Oil"

Might want to check that primary Chain adjustment....
Might need a Little tightening. (I think yours is still Manual isn't it?)
(COLD no more than 3/4")
Yours should have that Little Inspection Door on the outer primary besides that Derby Hole...
IF NO inspection Door it is auto adjust...
Let me know which you have and I may suggest a remedy IF loose...
TOO Loose will have the Noise you are referring to... TOO Tight Bad on the bearings...
