Hey R.Lewis

Hang in there Randy. They will test you until they run out of tests and then find something to fix. Been there and done that. :D

Agree 100% with ya Glider --- after 4 x-rays , 2 MRI's and with yesterdays CT mylogram they found out what I have been saying along --- "the pain isnt in my spine it is in my leg/hip" but the response was " we have to make sure nothing is wrong with your back. But what do I know I'm not a Dr.:p

Just saw this post for some reason. Hang in there R. Lewis, I will keep you in my prayers. Sounds like they are finally on the right path.

Well , had the femeral nerve inj. earlier today and not one bit of difference right now in the leg. Didnt really hurt like the other shots on Monday just a slight sharp pain down deep and that was it.Before I go "half-cocked" on the Ortho. Dr. I will give this shot a couple of days to do its thang if'n its goin to! So for now , its back to rehab , cold packs and heating pad.

Hi Randy. My problem last year was a herniated disc (L4) in my back from an injury 40 years ago. Even though the problem was in my back, all the aching pain and numbness was down my left leg. So I can see why the docs are trying to rule your spine out of the equation, I sure hope they do!
The trouble as I see it is, nerve pain can be referred, the problem being in one area, the pain referred to somewhere else.
Your doing the right thing by seeing specialists and they will get to the bottom of it, no worries.

So hang in there mate, you'll beat this in no time. If an old codger like me can, anyone can!!

quick update --- went to Ortho. Dr. on 8/8 he said there is nothing more he can do and referred me to a pain mngt. Dr. I'm waiting for the approval from Ins. Co. and the phone call for the appmnt.( the ol' "wait & see" deal) Still getting around with the use of a cane , cant feel anything from the knee down and the stabbing , needles & pins in the thigh area are still persistant! riding in a cage is no better due to all the bouncing around. One thing though - I dont care if its the middle of winter - once I'm able to do so - I'M RIDING !!!!!!! :p

Always thinking bout you and pulling for you man. Any of us could be in your shoes tomorrow and we admire your spirit. Don't know all the details of your prognosis, but sounds like you have some bruised nerve damage. I had some of that when I broke my neck. You will regain some of that feeling over time (if that's the case) but I never regained all of mine. Still have numb areas and some parts of muscle in my right arm that don't function properly. But get along pretty good otherwise. Please continue to keep us informed and we are all hoping to see pics of your first rides soon ! RWB
