I started an earlier post about your thoughts on group riding, what to look out for and what-not. All of you offered great information about what to expect in participating in a group ride.
I still haven't decided if I like riding in such large groups! I went on a 250+ mile endurance ride before Thanksgiving. It was AMAZING to be a part of 175 bikes on the road. But it was also dangerous.
Leaving planned stops was like being in a motorcycle rodeo with everyone wanting to leave at the same time from different areas of the parking lot (or gas station). There were also guys blowing thru stop signs to keep the pack going and together. I don't think riders should be blowing thru intersections just because they are on a group ride.
It is still thrilling to ride in with 175 bikes -- so I'm still undecided about it all. It certainly takes a lot more concentration to ride in a pack like that!
