Fuel Mileage

I have noticed also the quality of fuel seems to make a difference in gas mileage. Always burn 93 octane and I average ~ 40 per gallon. When I have had to fill up with off-brand gas the mileage does seem to suffer. There is talk around here that one station has 91 octane, ethanol free, I'll have to give it a try when I get my bike back from the shop.
BTW, I also ride like an old man because I can...lol!

Update: I had to fill up on the way to work this morning, poor planning on my part. Trip meter said 184, took 4.46 gals which is a bit over 41 mpg. I have been riding easy just to see if I could get the mileage up a bit from 38 so that is probably the difference.

I was worried that the previous owner never enriched it up for the stage I, but at 38-40 mpg I figure it is running rich enough.

Now, the heck with mileage, lets have some fun!!

gator508, You will really notice a difference when using plain unleaded "gasoline". Caseys has it in the 87 octane here, my truck gets 2MPG better using it. I try to use 1 gal in every tank full in FatBoy to cut down % of ethanol in tank.
