I think way too many times HD dealers try to get out of warrantee work but for the life of me I do not know why. They get paid (I know not as much as they like) for it but don't seem to want to do it. Try taking your bike in, in the middle of winter when they are really slow and maybe they'll change their tune and cover the stained gages. Maybe a hair dryer will work on wet gages on the inside.
