I know this is a very old post but can anyone tell me if the harley service bulletin for this issue would still apply to 06 bikes in 2016?

If the recall was NEVER done call your dealer with your VIN

That's the issue, it was never a recall just a service bulletin that was put put in 06.

Call your dealer to see if they will change them @ no cost?
If not it is not a hard job to do, you will need to get the kit

Let me shed some light on the injector issue. The injector recall was actually aimed towards early 2006 produced motorcycles experiencing idling issues in ambient temperatures of less than 65 degrees. During the model year all bikes were switched over to 25 degree injectors instead of the 8 degree.
Now there are injector specific downloads for the bikes.. If your bike is bone stock besides the injector swap the dealer can go ahead and reflash the ECM to insure it has the correct download free of charge. It costs nothing to the dealer for a stock download.
Also a large quantity of bad ECM's with 2006 model year bikes.
Call your dealer and give them your VIN, did you buy the bike new or used? If used it may not have had the injectors and download done, and a new ECM

Thanks for that info Jack, yeah mine was built in late 05. Has the idling issues mentioned not a big deal but irritating none the less. Exhaust and air filter are not stock. Stage1 download supposedly but I run a fuel pack. The bike sat up for years before I bought it so I originally thought it was just dirty injectors. Have an appt at the dealer next week so we will see what they say.

It looks like the Motorcycle build date range is 11-08-2005 through 03-28-2006.
On black regulators, PN 74505-06 a 4 digit date code is stamped on the backside of the regulator, in front of the oil filter.
On Chrome regulators, PN 74622-06 & 74623-06 a 4 digit date code is printed on a label on the inside of the right support.
The first two digits of the date code are the week produced; the last two are the year. If your date code is between 4205 and 1406, you need to see your Dealer for a replacement regulator before your warranty expires or 1 year from now, whichever comes first.
The bulletin number on this is M-1204

Some of the 06 models Early builds in 05 had internal fuel line problems, yours should have already been checked and or replaced
