Any brand of full synthetic 20-50wt is what my 07 sportster owners manual says.
thank you

If I remember correctly Mobil 1 Twin V 20/50 was the most used in the poll.
Oils have been debated here and the finale conclusion is, it's your ride you decide.

Having said that and on a personal note I use
1. Mobil 1 Twin V 20/50 in the engine.
2. Red Line shockproof in the transmission.
3. Formula + in the primary.
thank you

I use Amsoil 20w-50 MCV oil and a KN-170C oil filter......Walmart just listed the KN-170C for $8.15 cents....I ordered 3 and they were shipped to my local Wal-mart free of shipping charges, so $24.45 and of course 7% sales tax......cant beat the price....already have one of the 3 filters on. (as of Jan 11, 2018)

I have found a replacement engine oil for me.... SHOCKING as I changed
FROM 20/50.....20/60 Redline to 10W60 Liquimoly oil....
A German oil from Amazon @ 40$ and free shipping for a Jug of 5 liters = a little over 5 US quarts...
I buy two at a time (10+ quarts) and at my door in Two days...

I did extensive Trial on that oil and took me over 11,000 miles to get all conditions as: COLD... Warm... HOT... VERY Hot....
Man, it was Tough doing all that riding... SMILE lol (Big SMILE)

Two Good BLACKSTONE oil reports, one at 4400 miles and another change oil n filter then 6,111 miles...
BLACKSTONE saying: very little wear n suggested going to 8,000 miles... Saying: YOU found a Good oil for your 09 103" motor that IT liked and did VERY WELL With...

I still use ONLY Redline MTL for the primary and Redline SHOCKPROOF Heavy GEAR OIL for the Tranny...

signed....BUBBIE

Thanks Bubbie,

I did some checking and liquimoly has become my new oil. Found full synthetic in 15/40 weight for my duramax also!
I had been using royal purple-VERY EXPENSIVE

I'm doing an oil change in my '03 Sportster this weekend, I got a quart of Klotz straight 60wt and the other two quarts will be Liquimoly 10/60
I'm in South FL and it's real hot here. I'm thinking an oil cooler is needed on the 1250

I use the liquimoly 10/60 in my '13 FXDC 96" with a K&N filter, have 41k on her

Steve
