down but not out

thanks all for the well wishes and i am the first to admit it when it was partly my fault also but sometimes leaving too much of a safe distance also invites those with no patience and see a small opening as a " that lane is moving faster than mine, and just cut in ) but will see the ortho specialist again tomorrow for repeat xrays, dr stated at first visit hopes no surgery needed but i'll know tomorrow for sure. once again - be safe - ride a safe distance - keep a way out - pot holes in the city, leave me on a back road anytime lol

Good info here, sorry about your foot, hoping you heal fast and strong

Sorry to hear about your foot, glad it was not worse and hope you recover quickly. Thanks for sharing the story as a reminder for all of us.

Glad that you are OK, BUT, you bring up a very good point. We TRY to leave a 'safe' distance between us and the vehicle in front of us. What you said about that small opening that is OUR safe spot, means that is an invite to the cager to squeeze into because that lane is moving faster. More and more people are taking this spot as an opportunity to change lanes, and becoming more of the 'norm'. Does that mean.....do we as bikers, have to come up with an alternative to OUR safe distance? Makes it pretty scarey to drive in a place like NYC ! Let your foot heal, and hopefully NO surgery!

Ya I agree. It's the same here in Vancouver, as I'm sure it is in every city. Everybody always wants to be in front and the "me first" mentality makes people do crazy things.

Iceman I hope you heal up good. Good to hear it wasn't any worse.
