Complete Oil Change (softail)

Either engine you are interrupting the flow of oil.

Another thread I read recommended pulling the old oil filter and fuel line and (after filling the crankcase with new oil) just running the starter motor until the oil from the open oil filter port flowed clean oil. Any merit to doing it THIS way?

Getting all the old oil out makes a difference there is almost a quart of old oil left in the motor

I used the Scavenger product for my 07 FLSTF, my Indy noticed how clean my oil was when I had him do my 103 build.

I now used the Scavenger for oil changes on my 2011 RKC, and just did my friend's 08 RK CVO and my RKC yesterday. A total oil change is great, and the added piece of mind is a +. :bigsmiley12:

I know I'm necroposting but this really is the best place for the question.
Has anyone fitted a bypass valve on the return line to make the process easier in the future? Or would that just be too ugly and not worth the possibility of leaks between oil changes?
