Clutch Spring

Porter, your dilema is the same as mine. What did you end up buying?

The info for 37969-03A for tauts 28% more material, but the 37980-10 is newer and uses more high-tech materials.

My decision point would be on what lasts the longest. I don't have any problems with the clutch at all and am replacing because doing other work has the primary out. It's just seeing minimal bluing on the plates and having it apart that leads me to replacing the parts.

I'm leaning towards the newer part number but don't want a stiffer pull so I want to use the stock spring.

Has anyone used a micrometer on both sets of plates to see what the differences are? Or know which set will last the longest?

Does anyone have experience buying the kit with the spring, but putting the stock one back on?

My TC96 has about 36K miles and is relatively stock. Only around 86HP, torque 96. No need at all for the SE HP hub. I do pull a sidecar though...

Advice is appreciated.
