Other points above. Is the BT plugged into a switched outlet or one controlled by a GFCI switch? I had mine plugged in to one, and with the load of the Christmas lights and a heater in the garage, the GFCI kept tripping when my daughter turned on her hair drier. Moved the tender to a different outlet!!
Next, the starting issues suggest to me that the battery terminals need to be cleaned at both ends and reinstalled (neg off first, on last). While the leads are off, take the battery for a load test.
