Do you use your front brakes? You haven't described a normal braking scenario where both front and rear are used. If you are getting into the rear break heavy (or any braking situation heavy) your ABS system is going to pulse to prevent wheel lock-up.

Definitely something to try b/c I accidentally hit my rear brake only the other day @ stop (non-ABS bike) & created a 20' black stripe from sliding. If you do same w/ABS bike (rear only braking) then it's probably engaging ABS...try stopping w/both brakes...let us know.
