2001 FLHRCI Fuel Tank Cross-Over Line Rotted (Again)

I have a quick disconnect on my '02 FLHT tank crossover and the fuel line is FI hose (J30R9); off the shelf from most auto parts stores. The same fuel line has been in place for at least 10 years and has never leaked or rotted away. Used the same line on the crossover set up on my '05 FXSTD and no issues.

OK. I think I will simply upgrade to FI hose. It will be a while to see what happens. You can bet that I will watch this a bit closer this time.

As for lack of use, I don't see how a crossover line would know whether the scooter is used or not, other than a lack of vibration or heat. The crossover line would be internally filled at all times.

Let's see what FI line does. I have some from the same manufacturer as the regular fuel line that just rotted. I believe it is the material, not the manufacturer.
