The older bikes had a smaller alternator and a few more RPM may do the trick.

Now I know that aint a pork chop, is it? Your killing me Glider.

About 950 it is charging good, still a massive drop on voltage with front brakes applied or turn signal on. I also get a better charge when she is cold, the output drops as she warms up a bit after about 15 min riding. I'm going to get a better multimeter this evening and go through all the specs and double check all the voltages and ohm ratings, perhapsm I missed something.

There has got to be a way to do it. Is there a Teenager in the house!:34:

Glider,, love the Avatar! That Pork Chop looks Sooo Good..:)

I'll bet BUBBIE is off cooking some now :D

Trying to get that monkey to animate but no dice.

Doc, this might be a long shot, but take a look at the right switch cluster on the handlebar for a shorted wire.

On my '07 Dyna (admittedly, quite a ways from yours) both turn signals, the front brake switch, the rear brake switch, and the horn all have a wire in common, shown as O/W (orange and white). If it is shorted or pinched somewhere, activating any of these would short that part of the circuit to ground and you'd see a voltage drop.

Good luck.
