Turn Signal(s) slow to come on

My turnsignals are suddenly acting strangely. If I hold the t/s button about 20 seconds, the signal comes on and works fine. If I immediately try it again, it comes on right away, but if I wait a minute (or less), it again takes 20 seconds or more to come on. This is true of BOTH t/s's, so that tells me it's not the switch(es). It just started doing this recently. FYI I did replace the battery recently. Anybody know what's wrong?

Is this on your 89 FL ?

What year, model etc. Does it have a TSM or TSSM ?

I think I would measure the voltage across the switch at the start to see what potential you have there going in. If you have the normal volts on the line then the switch maybe dropping some current across it.

Dirty contacts? Hit 'em with some CorrosionX. That will clean them up. Be careful using contact cleaner it may eat the plastic.
