Transmission sprocket holding tool

Hi!
I have a 2007 Sportster 1200 XLC.
I have to change the neutral switch and unfortunately, to access it, I have to remove the transmission sprocket.
To do this, I have to use a transmission sprocket holding tool and, as I’m not going to do this operation on a regular basis, I wonder whether there is an alternative to using the specialised (rather expensive) tool without damaging the sprocket…

Leave the rear tire on the ground and place in 1st. gear, or hold the rear brake on. With an impact take off the the sprocket nut, after removing the locking plate. I don't recall if the nut is LH or RH treads on a sportster. When replacing sprocket nut use a small amount of Red LockTite. When replacing the 2 small allens for the locking plate use small amount of Blue LockTite. I usually pull the rear axle to be able and put the belt with pulley back on. By pulling the axle you don't have to re-adjust belt tension.

Sorry for the belated thanks...
I have tried the impact without success in gear with the brakes on, I have heated the nut to soften the Locktite, no luck... I have also soaket the darn thing in WD40, still no luck.
Next attempt, the very long breaker bar...
BTW that nut unscrews clockwise.
Stupid place to put the neutral switch...
I wanna ride...

Perhaps you need a wee bit more heat on the nut I use a gas torch to get the nut really red hot then I use a breaker bar which is 3 ft or impact wrench which will do 350 ft lbs
Even one that has been on a long time will eventually come off but you may need to attack it more than once with a wee bit more effort each time till you find the correct level of heat and violence to get it to move without damaging anything
