Testing The Charging System

I'm now wondering about my alternator. My bike has always been hard starting. I assumed it was because it has a stage iv 103 kit in it and the extra compression caused this but after reading this post I checked my battery after full charge. It was 12.9 volts even while reving it up the best I got was 13.8 volts.

Great stuff. I appreciate the info. Trouble shot a bad regulator and saved bucks from the stealership. I also got a cool chrome regulator to dress up things a bit. (I never thought about my bike having a three phase ac charging system, also cool to know.)
