starting problem

A little more is needed to help you out.

Is there fuel , Is it carb or FI and so on. What was the last thing you did and how did it die?

yes theres gas, last thing tat happened was on a ride stopped by a friends went to leave and wouldnt start so we push started it drove it home and diagnosed that it was the starter and replaced it

You push started it and it worked?

Recheck your wiring that was disconnected when you replaced the starter and look over the fuses to verify if they are good. Best to use a test light and test both sides of each fuse.

checked fuses and wiring, all checked out good.Still wont start.Had a friend come over today, push started it and it fired right up. Rode it around the block pulled into my garage turned it off and then tried to star and it just cranked over and wouldnt fire.

It would help if we knew how the fuel is delivered to the engine hence the previous question from glider does it have a carb or is it fuel injection
as diagnoses for each is completely different

Something is wrong in the wiring, it is not getting a signal for some reason other than crank mode if it will push start

Check Batt voltage while cranking is it staying above 9.6 volts that is min volts for most ingnition systems to work, woul like to se over 10volts, since it possable voltage dropping while cranking, since it will start by pushing and no load on batt from starter.

Its gets its fuel via carb for those who have asked also checked volts while cranking over and where at 10.1

As it is a late carbed bike then there may be a minor leak in the vacuum system that operates the fuel tap either the vacuum pipe connecting to the fuel tap or the diaphragm in the fuel tap
