sportster unknown wire

hello and good evening from East Yorkshire in the UK,i run a 06 sporster low,,,theres a wire hanging fro the left hand side near battery box,has a square plug.two pin (i think). although its standard (my last sporty had one),i still dont know what its for ?? doh!! anyone enlighten me ,,cheers.. trev from hull... :57::57::57:

but like.. I bought it in dallas...? So I take it this isn't a uk exclusive
