sick of maintenance costs

I understand the FREE safety check @ the dealer BUT unless they are providing factual info on the tire tread depth I would say this is scare tatics and should be reported. That said buy a manual for your bike and do as much of your own work as you can

My dealer has cost of doing business posted 5k,10k service.Depends if it's a sporty or big v twin.It isn't cheap by any means.I have changed my oil,but am not adept at much more than that.My last 10k was the service itself(includes all fluids),new rear tire,it needed replacing.Front brakes,needed,and their dual disc's.Was just over $1000 and I got $99 certificate towards anything there.I'll probably use it for service,but it's only good for a year.Way more costly than our car to maintain the bike.
