ShovelHead Starter Removal

I have a 1981 FX that I'm currently converting to an old skool chopper.. I want to convert it to a kick only start. Had a look at the service manual and can not see any reason why I cant just remove it and make some cover plates. Anybody tried this before? I do not want to make to many conversions since I will probly sell the bike once it is done and kicking is not for everybody.....

As long as you don't leave anything hanging in there, you should be ok.
I converted mine to kick only..... the novelty wore off pretty quick.

I have done it.I used a soft plug from a car motor to plug the solenoid hole.HD use to make a plate to cover the starter hole.Just remove everything.

Thanks,Guys. Novelty wearing off.... That is why I do not want to make the removal difficult. Been kickingmher since I got her three months ago. The look on other peoples faces priceless. Now just waiting for the first time in the rain and then realy going to hate myself:23:
