Shift Lever Situation

Meanwhile back at the ranch...

I took off the shifter and it was crusty and bone dry inside. Lubed her up with lithium grease and re-installed. Works like a charm! Return spring is fine as frog's hair! Happy boy...

While I was at it I flipped my shift lever so it's now inset instead of offset. I think I'm going to like the wiggle room for my big foot!

It will take a few shifts to get used to the new position on the shift lever, but the room is worth it.

I LOVE doing my own wrenching. The knowledge is coming along thanks to the HDT crew. If I was just a rider this would have cost me $60. (1 hr shop minimum) Probably chargeme for the dab of grease too... LOL.

Thanks again guys.

Too bad they dont put a grease fitting on the shaft like the old baggers had, I would pull the shaft and lube it with antisieze once a year or drill and tap it for a grease zerk
