The metal anchor that holds the string for the seat button rusted and the button got loose. I removed the staples and lifted the seat cover. The string that is attached to the button was OK so I threaded some fish line through the string and pushed a piece of 3/16 metal tube up through the seat pan and foam and threaded the fish line through the tube and pulled it through. Made a new anchor and attached the button string to it. Worked out really well.
