Remove the two front directionals first, then remove the 6 torx screws from the inner fairing. Don't over tighten them when reinstalling them.
Remove the windshield fasteners.
Removing the headlight makes the job a lot easier but is not necessary.
The headlight assembly comes out real easy and snaps back into place. If you do it that way you can see where the hooks are at and the wire looms when you are reinstalling. Check your manual for removing the fairing.
Place a towel over your front fender and tank too just in case of a mishap. Straddle the front fender and lift straight up on the outer fairing to get it to come loose form the hooks that hold it in place.
Then have to unplug the connector from the headlamps, by squeezing the the strain relief clips.
Reverse to reinstall.
