The stock lengths of the rear signal standoffs are a bit excessive and I wanted to remedy that without destroying the original lines/concept of the bike. I saw on another thread where the OP simply removed the standoffs...I choose not to do that but put shorter standoffs (off of a softail)
Here is a shot of the new/changed standoff on the left and the original on the right:

The part# for the softail standoff is 69933-08
The turn signal on the 48 (unlike the Softails which uses a simple/plain bolt) are held on by a special stud than must be shortened by an inch and then use a die cutter to cut new threads on the end of the stud...
