What causes humming from the radio? Have new batt, HDs handle bar MP3 player and Sirius. No matter what I use; radio, MP3 or Sirius I get humming. Speakers are good. 1998 UltraClassic.
 
It could be one of 3 things.Plug wires,plugs or you need a suppressor in the positive feed to the radio
 
What Steve07 said, but don't forget the grounding braids/wires and abraid the contact areas where they have metal to metal contact. These help ground the shielding/metal around the radio/chassis in isolated areas in the fiberglass/ABS fairing. Also what Steve says about the suppressors are the small metal capacitors (1-2" cylinders) or capacitor/coil networks in potted "lumps" with wire(s) coming out of them, usually near the power inlet to the electronics or near the power source (or stator wiring) area or steering head area. Keep us posted as to what you find, when you start inspecting things. Abraided or evidence of arcing, heating insulated wiring or connectors may be suspect as well.
