I have to paint my tank and the bike is Pewter Denim. Is there a special process to use when painting with the Denim colors? It seems like there is no clear coat on it from the factory? The dealer has the paint and said it was a special process, but he didn't know the process.

Use a flattening agent in the clearcoat. My buddy has a paint shop and does repairs for the local dealer. That's how he paints them.

I painted my bike myself and I can tell you it is not as easy as it looks. I paint for a living at a dealership and this denim is a pain in the(edit) With shiny clear you can buff the dirt nibs out with this stuff you cant leave no room for mistakes thats why I had to paint it twice to make it nice. The denim is a base coat the clear I used PPG 2060 flex and flat mixed to the flat degree. Good luck keeping it clean.
