hi I have a 2003 electra glide ( only had it a few weeks and had a number of problems ...!!! ) the bike is fine from cold but after about an hours running it becomes very hard to select neutral and when you do get it sometimes the green neutral light doesnt come on has anybody had this sort of problem ?

Sounds like a very common problem.

Start off by readjusting your clutch properly, that may eliminate your problem completely. As the engine/trans heats up the adjustment changes and if it was marginal to begin with the plates aren't completely separating when it gets hot then.
Follow that up with some gear oil in the trans and not motor oil. Spectro/Mobil/redline all make excellent gear oils 75/90 or 75/140 depending on how hot your temps are... that will make you think you have a new transmission. The neutral light could be the neutral switch in the cover of the trans, a simple thing to replace yourself, just unscrew it and replace it with a new one but try the gear oil first.

The clutch problem could be as simple as a clutch adjustment and primary chain adjustment. If the primary chain is little too tight it will get tighter as the primary heats up and expands which binds the clutch hub....this will put just enough drag in the clutches that neutral will be hard to find,(it will go from 1st to 2nd skipping neutral)
The neutral light is operated by a mechanical grounding switch on top of the trany....replace this switch or look at the contacts to make sure they are secure. You can also do a continuity test on the switch to see if it operates correctly.
