My 76 shovel that I bought as a basket and put together 5 or 6 years ago always had solid lifters. I decided to put in Hydraulics this fall and when the engine is cold it sounds like a fine watch, but as it warms up the front exhaust lifter collapses at idle. I switched the lifters from hole to hole to see if the noise would change hole. but it didn't. I run 50 wt for oil and have plenty of pressure. Its getting oil everywhere. It has me baffled. I ended up putting the old lifters back in for now. The motor has about 10000 miles on it with no problems. Any light bulbs go on all ideas appreciated!
