New V&H Longshots

The Heritage had Supertrapp Mean Mothers on it when I bought it. The heat shields started rusting through. Odd since she very seldom gets wet. Anyway, bought a set of V&H Longshots and put them on last night. Had one issue though. The rear sections would not slip over the header sections. After many tries I pulled the header sections back off. The end of the header sections looked like they had a very tiny bit of flare to them. I chamfered the outside of the end with a grinder. All went together smoothly with that done. Anyone else with V&H ran into this.

I have run into this problem and took a different approach instead of grinding on the head pipe I used a mandrel to sightly increase the size of slip on pipe to fit the head pipe.
