There was a short lived tv show hear in NE called "The Ride", great scenic rides covered.Ive actualy used this sight to plan trips, a couple done so far.If you find the sight online its very usefull.My favorite so far was the North Conway ride.Still you cant go wrong with the Kangamangus highway.

Here's another idea if time permits: The old port in Portland is kinda cool then from there take rt 302 west into North Conway NH, then you can travel the Kangamangus Hwy.
