neck bearings

    what is the recomended service for replacing or repairing neck bearings on a 91 softtail custom also on the swingarm

    50g appears about standard f you live in a bumpy area or do dirt and gravel roads frequently. A road bike will rarely need the neck bearings replaced. With the head torque correct and wheel off the ground grasp the forks and lift upwards to see if you can feel and give,,, should be tight with no slop at all, next rotate the forks, listen and feel for any rough spots, tightness or “bumps” as you rotate left to right. That being smooth and tight,,leave it for the next paint job and replace then.:bigsmiley12:
