Thanks for the coments on my hoist build I am pretty happy with the end result. As for the pump unit, it was a freebe, I had to repair the electric motor, replace the hydraulic pick-up and make a new hydraulic tank but still an awsome score.

Pretty ingenious and chrafty. Is your floor wood, or concrete? Did you need to brace/add support for the weight?

I cemented the cylinder in a hole that was 12 inches in dia and 32 inches deep, with all the hydraulic lines in place then put the concrete floor in. I found the balance point of the bike on the deck and thats were it is attached to the cylinder. I considered having to put support on either end but its not needed.
