To ad to what has been said already, they will sound crummy too. At first you'll like it but after riding a while you realize you made a mistake.

I've seen many make this mistake and regret it afterward.

You would advise against doing a Fulsac recore?

If you are talking about the re-cored stock mufflers like on Ebay, I really would choose another route myself.JMO.

I knocked out my stock mufflers on a 1997 FLHT it sounded terrible off they came and in the trash

Glad I read this post. I was thinking about trying to knock out things to see if they would sound better. Got away with that with a Volusia I had some years ago.
