Mini-apes on 2008 FXDL

I have the anniversary model and would like to install mini-apes. (12 or 14"). The service rep at the local HD stated that since I have the electronics built in to the riser it would be costly and not worth the effort. The parts rep stated it would be no problem and I could use the same risers, only issue being cable lenghth. Anyone done this before? Thanx...
 
Check out JP Cycles for wiring/cable extension kits, you can approximate how long extensions you will need and it is a clean and sano installation...no cutting or splicing...plug and play!

Plug and play is easy, but I like running the wires through the bars. With apes thats a lot of wire swinging in the wind.

Hilander- Having just done it, here's what you'll need. Pick your bars and order them first. Once mounted measure how long your cables need to be then order those.

Throttle and Idle are pretty simple. You'll need new banjo gaskets for your brake hose. And a quart of trans oil for replacing the clutch cable.
